Resurrecting

Resurrecting

By your spirit I will rise
from the ashes of defeat.
The resurrected King
is resurrecting me.

On Good Friday, we may mourn the death of Jesus. But on Easter Sunday we celebrate His resurrection. Resurrecting by Elevation Worship is special to me. It’s the song that changed everything for me last year. The day that song played in church, I felt God speaking to my heart that He was rebuilding me. It was then I made the decision to get baptized. And on Easter Sunday 2018, my pastor baptized me in front of our church.

This time of year, I am always reminded that it is the start of something new. I always feel like it is the perfect time to begin again. Because it is.

My spirit has experienced a lot of resurrecting the last two years, and it is only by God’s grace that I am here now. I have felt my heart being healed and renewed, and I have experienced changes in myself that are unexplainable except through God. And it all comes back to Easter.

With God, healing is possible. With God, there is hope. Because if He can resurrect Jesus, He can resurrect our spirits. What better time to experience that hope than on the very day the world experienced hope in Jesus’ resurrection?
